AUTOMOTIVE AFTERMARKET SYMPOSIUM 2024 AT SDU

On October 28th, Talents4AA organized the Automotive Aftermarket Symposium 2024 – Advancing Sustainability, Inclusion, and Impact, at University of Southern Denmark in collaboration with SDU Career Hub. This event brought together industry leaders, academic experts, and passionate students to engage in meaningful dialogues on social, environmental, and economic sustainability, setting a new benchmark for collaboration and innovation in the automotive aftermarket.

Panel Discussions

Panel 1

The symposium kicked off with first panel, where speakers Eva Arnspang Christensen, Lars O. Bech Petersen, Maria Elo, and Nadine Schleiser shared their insights on social sustainability, gender equality, diversity, and inclusion. They emphasized on the critical role of a diverse workforce in shaping the future of the aftermarket industry and explored how inclusivity can drive innovation and progress. This panel highlighted the need for a broader representation and more inclusive practices across the industry.

Panel 2

Panel 2 lead the conversation towards environmental sustainability and innovation. Speakers Christoffer Huus, Morten Thy Asmussen, and Thierry Leblanc discussed the need for greener, more resilient automotive aftermarket practices. They shared how the industry can contribute to a sustainable future by embracing new technologies and strategies that minimize environmental impact. The discussion was an inspiring reminder of the sector’s responsibility to lead in environmental stewardship.

The third and final panel wrapped up with insights into economic sustainability and institutional partnerships. Speakers including Amal Sayeh, Fotios Katsardis, Michael Nielsen, Sarah Lindholm, and Jens Knudsen discussed how partnerships and collaborations can strengthen the automotive aftermarket. Their dialogue shared the importance of unity and resource-sharing to drive stability and growth, ensuring the industry’s ongoing success in an evolving landscape.

Poster Session and Career Exploration

Following the panel discussions, the main Aula transformed into a vibrant poster session that allowed researchers, and industry giants like AAMPACT, AUTIG, BORG AUTOMOTIVE, BOSCH, DINEX, FAAS, FEBI, FIGIEFA, NISSENS, and TEMOT to share their latest findings and innovations. This session provided students with a unique platform to connect with company representatives, discuss career paths, and gain insights into the trends shaping the future of the aftermarket industry.

In a dedicated HR room, Lars O. Bech Petersen from Dinex provided students with invaluable career guidance, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the industry’s talent needs and professional opportunities. This direct interaction allowed students to explore potential career trajectories and connect with industry insiders.

A Networking Reception

The symposium concluded with a lively networking reception, where attendees had the chance to share ideas, form connections, and discuss future collaborations. This was a fitting end to a day dedicated to fostering knowledge, building relationships, and envisioning a sustainable future for the automotive aftermarket.
